Yesterday I applied for grad school.

Pros of grad school:
- My time will be used wisely
- I’ll feel like I’m using my BA
- It is a goal with an end in sight
- 50% of my tuition is covered
- I’ll be accomplished
- Confidence will come with a MS
- It will keep my mind off of having babies
- I will have more career options
- I will be in a field that uses all my interpersonal skills but lets me be a mom when the time comes
- Stress
- Increased likelihood of migraines
- Lack of sleep
- $$$$$$$
- Less availability to family and friends
- Can’t have babies for a while
Pro #7 and Con #6 are constantly on my mind. Even more than Con #4. I think this is because Shehan and I have never worried about being able to pay for our schooling. I got through my first degree by paying out of pocket every time and never had to borrow money from anyone. Grad school, however, is more expensive. Yet I feel like because we are both in stable jobs and my boss supports me going to school the Lord has already given us so-called keys to the kingdom here.

| I wouldn't mind doing this again. With a few extra things around my neck. |
How would you like it if you gave someone an armload of gifts and the receiver flushed each one down the toilet?
I’ve already promised the Lord that if He helps pave the way I’ll use each of those gifts to their fullest. The toilet shall starve as long as I’m around.

10 peeps who peeped:
Is it bad that Pro #7 and Con #6 made me sad? Hah.
I love you Jamie. Whatever happens, you'll be brilliant at it. I'm already so very proud of you. You're my forever hero and I adore you. I'm praying for you always.
In my experience, grad school was well worth every penny, sleepless night and headache. Good luck!
Grad school is totally worth it. And now's the time to do it. The longer you wait, the harder it will get. I know if I wouldn't have continued and gotten my masters right after my BA, I don't think I would've ever gone back. BEFORE BABIES is key! After grad school, by all means, BABY away! haha!
Hi! I am quickly following back. I promise to return later and read more but right now we're panicking over here because of an earthquake that's suppose to take place.
Have a good weekend!
in what?
grad school is a totally awesome prospect. i won't give any advice, because when and how you have kids is a completely personal issue. just know that you absolutely can do whatever it is you choose to do... i'm trying to remember that, too ; )
So exciting, darling!
I loved grad school!

Hi Jamie,
I went back to school and got my grad degree when my youngest child was in middle school. She & I studied together most nights. It was difficult but well worth it. Congrats for taking this step. :)
I found your blog from the Life with Twins blog hop, and am now following.
