Remember this post I wrote last year about Meg's revealing haircut?
She had gained a huge amount of weight in a short time and - if you can believe it - gained even more since that post. Something didn't add up. She is a border collie who is active and never had a weight problem before. She doesn't eat much and we've noticed excessive thirst, shivering when she shouldn't be cold with all that hair, strange patches of lost fur and sensitive skin. That's just starting the list.
We hauled our girls (Clare and Meg) into the veterinarian's office yesterday to get her thyroid checked. It was an enormous relief to find my dearest Meg indeed has hypothyroidism and putting her on twice-per-day pills will change her life back to the healthy, happy dog she once was.
I'm so glad there is such an easy fix. I want this tummy to be a thing of the past:
Also yesterday I took photos of my cousin's sweet baby. Here are a couple of favorites:
Not on a sidenote, Happy Easter. This is my favorite holiday for many reasons. One of which is the sacrifice made so long ago is the way we can celebrate new life such as this sweet baby girl.

3 peeps who peeped:
Oh Meg. Give her a kiss from me! Clare too.
Thanks for the pictures, Jamie! They turned out so cute! I'm so happy for Meg too. It's so easy to see the difference the pills have made. She definitely has a little more spring in her step.
My friend in Canada is taking natural porcine thyroid for her hyperthyroidism. She said that it has helped her a lot because the symptoms have vanished.
